Infinity GSeries 2026 arrives with a key change that will directly affect the matchups in the Regular Season and the competitive balance. This year, the 3-team group system—which later becomes the color groups—has been redesigned to guarantee more excitement and transparency.
The Big Innovation of Infinity GSeries 2026
In previous editions, 16 teams had guaranteed spots, but in 2026 only 12 teams qualify directly. This allows the organizers to:
- Give new teams more opportunities in the preQ
- Prevent very strong newcomers from unbalancing the competition
- Create more balanced groups and more competitive matchups
Previously, teams in positions 7, 8, 9, and 10 had to face each other as well as the top teams from the qualifying phase, concentrating much of the difficulty in a few matchups. The new system fixes this.
How 3-Team Groups Are Formed
The groups combine teams with guaranteed spots and teams from the qualifying phase following this structure:

- 1st guaranteed team
- 12th guaranteed team
- 5th qualifying team

- 2nd guaranteed team
- 11th guaranteed team
- 6th qualifying team
Group 3
- 3rd guaranteed team
- 10th guaranteed team

Once the groups are set, a draw will assign a color to each group to determine the matchups and the schedule for each round.
