The competition format of the Infinity GSeries makes IGS 2026 “the best simracing competition in the world.”
If you’ve made it this far, it’s because you want to understand how the competition format of the Infinity GSeries really works. And yes, we know: between colors, blocks, and rounds, it can look like a maze. But in this quick guide, I’ll explain it clearly, directly, and without any confusion.
The Infinity GSeries are a competition with a unique format that combines strategy, consistency, and excitement until the very last round. A total of 24 teams take part, competing across 10 rounds divided into two phases:
- Regular phase (7 rounds)
- Final phase (3 rounds)
This system guarantees varied matchups, ongoing rivalries, and a tightly contested final leaderboard.
Color Groups: The Key to the Regular Season
Before the competition begins, the 24 teams are split into blocks of 3 teams, each assigned a color. These are the famous color groups.
How are they formed?
- Based on the results of the previous edition
- According to the qualifying phase
During the 7 rounds of the Regular Season:
- Each color group faces every other color group once.
This ensures that:
- Every team competes against each opponent at least once
- Internal rivalries are maintained
- The standings remain balanced and competitive
Standings After the Regular Season: Golden, Silver, and Bronze Rockets
After the 7 rounds, teams are ranked by points and divided into three main blocks, which are crucial for the final stretch of the championship:
Golden Rockets (Positions 1–6)
The top teams of the Regular Season. These are the squads fighting for ultimate glory, the Infinity GSeries title, and the €1000 prize.
Silver Rockets (Positions 7–12)
The upper-mid pack. Competitive teams aiming to finish in the best possible position and earn fan recognition for their strong performance.
Bronze Rockets (Positions 13–24)
The largest block. Here, teams fight to finish strong and climb the leaderboard. The last 3 races are the perfect chance to shine and leave the struggles of the Regular Season behind.
🔥 The Final 3 Rounds: Each Block Battles for Its Fate
In the last 3 rounds, teams compete only against others in their block. This means:
- Golden Rockets face each other to decide the champion
- Silver Rockets fight to improve their final standings
- Bronze Rockets battle to show progress and overcome the challenges of the Regular Season
This system keeps the excitement alive until the very end and ensures no team can afford to relax.
